Where Areca Leaf Tableware Is Used
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is areca leaf tableware made from?
Our products are made from naturally fallen sheaths of the areca palm (Areca catechu). No trees are cut. The sheaths fall on their own as the palm grows new fronds. They are collected, washed in water, hot-pressed into shape and trimmed. No chemicals, no bleach, no coatings.
How long do areca leaf products take to compost?
Areca leaf tableware composts in 45-60 days in home compost or garden soil with no industrial facility required. This is significantly faster than PLA (90 days at 58°C industrial composting) or paper plates (6-12 months).
Can areca leaf plates hold hot and liquid food?
Yes. The hot-press manufacturing process creates a dense, rigid plate that is naturally moisture-resistant and can hold hot food for 45-90 minutes without softening. They are not suitable for prolonged liquid immersion (e.g., soups) but handle curries, rice, and gravies well.
What is the minimum order quantity for areca leaf products?
Minimum order is 500 cartons. You can mix SKUs across plates, bowls and trays to reach it, so a first order does not have to be a single shape.
