About This Policy
BlueDot Exports ("BlueDot," "we," "us," or "our") is an exporter of sustainable disposable tableware and packaging based in Mumbai, India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit www.bluedotexports.com, request a quote, or talk to us by email, phone, or WhatsApp, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy (the "data fiduciary" under Indian law, or "data controller" under laws such as the GDPR). Our address is E-309, Crystal Plaza, Link Road, Andheri West, Mumbai 400053, Maharashtra, India.
Our customers are businesses, so most of the personal data we handle is business contact information about the people who work for our buyers, distributors, and partners.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Quote and contact form: your full name, company name, country, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the products and quantities you are interested in, preferred delivery and payment terms, target shipping date, and any message you write, and whether you agreed to be contacted on WhatsApp.
- WhatsApp: your WhatsApp phone number, profile name, and the messages, photos, documents, and other files you send us. See "WhatsApp Communications" below.
- Email and phone: the contents of your emails and the details you share on calls.
- Orders and shipments: when you buy from us, the information needed to complete the trade, such as billing and delivery addresses, company registration and tax or import identifiers, contact people at your company, and banking details for trade payments.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: if you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. It records the pages you view, how you arrived at our site, your device and browser type, your approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address, and page performance measurements. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
- Server logs: our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of each request in order to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as health information, government ID numbers, or account passwords, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your enquiries, prepare quotations, and send the catalogues, samples, and product information you ask for
- To process and fulfil orders, including export documentation, shipping, customs clearance, and invoicing
- To communicate with you about quotes, orders, shipments, and support by email, phone, or WhatsApp
- To send you product updates and offers, only where you have agreed to receive them (you can opt out at any time)
- To understand how our website is used and improve it
- To keep our website, systems, and business secure and to prevent fraud
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax, customs, foreign trade, and accounting requirements
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where data protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on:
- Consent: for example, when you opt in to receive WhatsApp messages or product updates. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract: to take steps you ask for before entering into a contract, such as preparing a quote, and to perform a contract with you or your company.
- Legal obligation: to meet tax, customs, and record-keeping requirements.
- Legitimate interests: to run and improve our business and website, communicate with business contacts, and keep our systems secure, where your rights do not override these interests.
For people in India, we process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, based on your consent or on the legitimate uses that Act permits.
WhatsApp Communications
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates (including WhatsApp LLC and, for users in the European Region, WhatsApp Ireland Limited), to communicate with customers and prospective customers.
What we receive
When you message our WhatsApp Business number (+91 89510 44522) or we message you, we receive your WhatsApp phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, the content of messages and any media or documents you share, and message information such as timestamps and delivery and read status.
How we use it
We use WhatsApp data only to reply to your enquiries, share the quotes, catalogues, and product information you request, send order, shipment, and document updates, and provide customer support. If you agree, we may also send you occasional product and offer updates.
Opting in and out
We only message you on WhatsApp if you have contacted us there first or have agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from BlueDot Exports, for example by ticking the WhatsApp opt-in box on our quote form. You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying "STOP" in the chat or by emailing support@bluedotexports.com. After you opt out, we will only send WhatsApp messages in reply to messages you send us.
How Meta processes this data
Messages between you and BlueDot Exports travel through Meta's infrastructure. When we use Meta's hosted Cloud API, Meta processes and stores message content on our behalf so that we can send and receive messages, and WhatsApp may show a notice about this in the chat. We may also use a Meta-approved Business Solution Provider to help us manage conversations. Any such provider acts only on our instructions. Meta's own use of data is governed by the WhatsApp Privacy Policy (https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy) and the Meta Privacy Policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy).
We do not sell WhatsApp data, share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising, or use it for purposes unrelated to our communications with you. Please do not send payment card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive information over WhatsApp.
International Data Transfers
We are based in India, and some of our service providers, including Google, Vercel, and Meta, process data in other countries, including the United States. When personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses, and on transfers permitted by applicable law.
Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it:
- Enquiries and quote requests that do not lead to an order: up to 3 years after our last contact with you.
- Customer, order, and shipment records: for as long as Indian tax, customs, and accounting laws require, generally up to 8 years.
- WhatsApp conversations: for as long as needed to serve you, and no longer than the periods above.
- Analytics data: no longer than 14 months in Google Analytics.
When we no longer need data, we delete or anonymise it.
How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to our website, access controls on the accounts and systems that hold your data, and limiting access to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Ask us to delete your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to (under Indian law)
- Complain to a data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Board of India or your local supervisory authority

How to Delete Your Data
You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you, including your WhatsApp conversation history with us, at any time:
- By email: write to support@bluedotexports.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request", and include the email address or WhatsApp number you used to contact us.
- On WhatsApp: send "DELETE MY DATA" to our WhatsApp Business number, +91 89510 44522.
We will confirm that we have received your request, delete your data within 30 days, and tell you when it is done. If the law requires us to keep certain records, such as invoices and export documents, we will keep only those and tell you. To delete your WhatsApp account, or the copy of our chat on your own device, use the settings in the WhatsApp app.
Children's Privacy
Our website and services are meant for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-Party Links
Our website links to third-party services, including WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Calendly (for booking calls), and Google Drive (for catalogue downloads). These services collect data under their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you directly.
